A Prayer for Marriage to Saints Louis and Zelie Martin

Virtuous Saint Louis and Saint Zelie, model of a holy, loving marriage, the first canonized couple, we pray for your intercession to help us with our marriage and family life.

Pray for us and with us Saints Louis and Zelie, as we seek the Lord’s blessing to help us grow in faith, hope, and love as husband and wife.

Lord, we pray for grace, humility, and forgiveness in our marriage.

We pray for the strength and resilience of marriages among our family and friends.

We pray for hope for single men and women seeking and longing to share their life with a faithful spouse one day, as Your will allows.

We pray for young people discovering love and starting their relationships - Lord help them to discern marriage as the ultimate aim for their partnership and togetherness.

We pray for engaged couples who are preparing their hearts and spirits for marriage through Pre-Cana.

Most sincerely Lord, we pray for our own (and the world’s) conversion and repentance.

Help us uplift and respect marriage as a sacred covenant, the truest of bonds.

Help us remember that our marriage is everlasting in this life and beyond, a mirror of Your infinite love for us.

Always with kindness, may we nurture, encourage, and champion our spouse’s God-given gifts, while we also show grace, temperance, and tolerance when they struggle from their shortcomings.

Help us to never take our marriage for granted - may we treat our relationship as the most beautiful and generous blessing that can only come from You.

Help us to see the love, joy, and peace of Christ, when we look at our spouse.

As we persevere through the challenges and temptations in our daily work, may we find solace in the steadiness and simplicity of St. Joseph and Mother Mary.

Lord, we pray humbly that You always guide our hearts, thoughts, and actions towards Your goodness and light, so that we can build our marriage and grow our family only for Your greater glory.

We pray for all this, through the reflection and intercession of Saints Louis and Zelie Martin.
