Amazing Grace Day 3: St. Paul, You Inspired Our Reversion
St. Paul, pray for our family and our continuous conversions
To close out our series, I’m writing this post to offer thanksgiving to God for our own family’s conversion (reversion) - the softening of our hearts and the unblinding of our eyes - as we returned to our beautiful faith.
Even after years of unbelief and resistance to Christ's love, I'm reminded that at any given moment, we can always have a change of heart.
We only need to be willing to open our spirit to God’s grace so we can finally know true redemption and renewal.
Because Christ's peace is the only Truth that can heal whatever throbbing brokenness that continues to fracture our soul.
This is the miracle that's happened to me and Randy.
For years we thought that fullness meant achieving fame, followers, popularity, money, multi-home ownership, investment portfolios, career success, health and fitness, and all the enviable things of this world that we believed could make us feel secure and happy.
But we humbly learned that amassing earthly goods and our attachment to being impressive only reduced us back to emptiness and never-enoughness.
We learned that all the things this world wants us to go for, and sell our soul for, could never make us feel whole.
Humility is the only north star worth following and endeavoring, because only through humility, could we truly know holiness.
Once Randy and I surrendered our lives and our family's fate to God, our sense of meaning and happiness became less about highlighting our accomplishments and feeding our pride.
Instead, our lives became fully all about how to point ourselves and others to God's miraculous and mysterious Love.
Even in seasons when we're heavily struggling with fear of the unknown, heartbreaking loss, and numbing depression, Randy and I continue to stride forward because we know that by walking with Christ, clarity will come, and peace is still within reach.
St. Paul, pray for us. May we be more like you, and realize the light-filled works of conversion and evangelization pulsing inside us, whispering for us to walk through whatever roads we must cross to finally see and proclaim Christ’s bright glory.
Amazing grace!
Lord Jesus, our lives are yours. Take it and help us do Your will.
