How to Conquer Anxiety through Christ
Sacred Heart of Jesus: Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, TX
I dedicate this message of hope for those who also struggle with persistent fear and suffocating anxiety.
I carry the same burdens, so I know your heart.
God is only purifying your spirit, straining and surfacing the true, good, and beautiful in you.
So let your soul stir, and shake the darkness out.
This desperation we feel, only reminds us how we have to stay close to Him.
Because unwavering peace is only found within His embrace.
The instability, suffering, and illusions of this world makes us constantly scared.
So unless we believe in, and turn to, the redemptive power of Christ, our Prince of Peace, we will always be troubled.
Notice how focusing on earthly pressures, clutching to our attachments, and punishing ourselves with comparison mind games just makes our hearts mangled, our imaginations twisted, and our confidence crumbled.
The cycle then goes: we regret the past, we resent the present, and we fear the future.
Remember, this heavy anxiety and constant discontent is the work of the evil one.
He wants us scared, doubtful, and anxious all the time.
Although dark clouds loom closely, and the devil threatens to snatch us off that balance beam of faithfulness, let's keep our gaze towards our Lord.
He will save us, and catch us. Always.
Beloved, if you’re searching for spiritual healing, don’t despair.
Try this instead: pray, praise, repent, ask, surrender, and receive.
Renew your baptismal promises, adore God constantly, find a faithful community, and reject the works of Satan.
We must believe in the God of Hope! THE HOLY SPIRIT IS COMING!
Our Advocate is only a breath and prayer away.
“I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.” - John 16:33
